At Central Health Clinic we are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated, Senior Medical Receptionist/Administration Assistant to join our Medical Centre.

 

Being the first point of contact for patients and doctors alike, it is pivotal that you are always well presented and professional.

 

This is a busy position that would suit someone who has a strong eye for detail and someone that can manage a high workload with confidence.

 

Duties include, however, are not limited to:

 

  • Meeting and greeting patients to the clinic;
  • Rescheduling patients due to changes in patient and / or practitioner availability;
  • Greeting patients on the day of their appointment;
  • Data entry of information provided via patient information forms and referrals;
  • Electronic and hard copy filing;
  • Billing patients (e.g. via EFTPOS, HICAPS, Medicare, etc.);
  • Assisting with the counting and ordering of medical & allied health retail stock;
  • Changing the linen on the treatment beds in practitioner rooms;
  • Tidying the reception area, practitioner rooms, and the kitchen;
  • Liaising with external stakeholders to follow up outstanding debt;
  • End to end health fund billing across our multiple sites;
  • Managing patient procedure bookings, admissions and discharges;
  • Ensuring remittances are processed in a timely manner;
  • Managing billing related corrections and queries;
  • Providing health fund eligibility checks;

 

Essential skills 

  • Require a minimum of 2 years’ proven medical experience;
  • Reliable, team player, and trustworthy;
  • Have previous inpatient billing experience;
  • Be able to interpret health fund contracts;
  • Understand the reporting requirements;
  • Strong customer service skills;
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal;
  • Proficient in Outlook, Word & Excel and an ability to learn new software systems quickly;
  • Background in using Best Practice;
